Heyday is built on care: for craft and for people.

Hi, I’m Craig, the founder of Heyday Coffee, and there are two things I want you to know.

1. We roast exceptional coffee
2. We care deeply about youth mental health

Our country is facing an unprecedented mental health crisis, and our youth are suffering disproportionately. I’ve seen, in my own life and in the lives of people I care about, how mental health challenges touch our families. Many of us have been through it, and all of us know someone who has. Too often it’s stigmatized or ignored.

I’ve spent years traveling and have seen how other cultures slow down to enjoy their coffee and tea. In the U.S., life moves fast, and most of us don’t give ourselves time to step back and breathe. Our morning coffee is one of the few chances we still have to pause, and I want that moment to mean something.

Heyday was created to serve. We roast great coffee and donate a portion of our profit to organizations that promote open conversations around youth mental health. When you start early, you can help create a lifetime of better days.

Why It Matters

While coffee is our business, our mission is about something deeper. We believe in the strength of community and in showing up for the change we want to see.

At Heyday, we’ve chosen to focus on youth because that’s where the impact can last the longest. Young people shape the culture that follows, and helping them helps all of us.

There is a true mental‑health epidemic underway. This is not a niche issue. Millions of young people face anxiety, depression, and isolation:

• Almost 40% of young adults experience a mental‑health challenge each year.
• Thirty‑five percent of college students say they feel isolated or left out.
• Only one‑third of those who need help receive it.
• Suicide is the second leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 24.

These statistics are heartbreaking, but they also represent an opportunity to do something meaningful.

Our charity of choice is Active Minds, the nation’s leading nonprofit supporting mental‑health awareness and education for young adults. They champion a peer‑to‑peer approach that helps students and communities talk openly, seek help early, and support one another. Their model of change is simple but powerful: educate, inspire, and equip young people to become advocates for their own mental health.
